Summer Reading Programs 2026 Summer Reading Kick Off Party: Family Fair Day! Come for an old fashioned afternoon of games, snacks, coloring, and more in Founder's Park! Wednesday, July 1 from 1 - 3 PM. All Ages Welcome! This event is open to all ages, and free and open to the public! Stay tuned for more details about Adult Summer Reading! READ, WHITE, AND BLUE Children's Room Summer Reading Program Children's Summer Reading Sign-ups start: June 29 Runs: July 6 to August 15 Reading Logs! Children of all ages are welcome to participate in our reading log program! Children choose their reading goal each week, and when they reach their goal they earn a prize! Reading Logs can not be checked 30 minutes before or after special events. Children ages 7-11 have a choice to participate with reading logs or with our BookFlix program! Sign-up is required. Join one of the Children’s Room summer book groups! EXETER 250TH CELEBRATION 2026 marks the United States' Sestercentennial Anniversary of its independence. The Exeter 250 Celebration Commission is organizing events throughout the year to honor the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the founding of the "Great Experiment"of democracy. Nearly every day since spring our three-season porches have been enjoyed by visitors reading, eating lunch, chatting, or just rocking while listening to the rustle of leaves, birdsong, and the bubbling of the river.
