Exeter Public Library has created, as part of the Nancy Carnegie Merrill Historical Room, a new Digital Conversion Center with machines able to convert analog film, audio, and photos to digital content. Digital Preservation Center Do you have a box of old film reels, slides, photos, CDs, VHS, camcorder tapes, and DVDs? Wonder what's on that strip of negatives you found at the bottom of a draw? The source footage can be from either 8mm or Super 8mm film reels. The digitized footage records onto an SD card. This device can also be used to view film. Sharper Image Rapid Photo Album Scanner This scanner allows you to digitize photos, slides, and 35mm negatives. You can automatically or manually edit the exposure and RGB color to bring faded images back to life. Can be connected to a computer. MYPIN Cassette Tape Converter This device will let you transfer cassette tapes to a USB stick in MP3 format. It can also be used to listen to cassette tapes out loud or with headphones. Canon Microfilm Scanner 400 This device will let you view and make copies of microfilm files. This includes the Library's collection of the Exeter News-Letter. Bluetooth Turntable Player This turntable will let you play 33 1/3, 45, and 78 RPM vinyl records. It has a built-in speaker or can be wirelessly paired to speakers or headphones using Bluetooth. CD/DVD External Drive This device will let you record data onto or read data from CDs or DVDs. It connects to a computer using a USB cable and works as though it were built into the computer. Meetings are run in accordance with Roberts Rules of Order. Refer to the Library Board of Trustees website page for more information. Schedule EPL Board of Trustees Meetings will be posted at the library and on social media (Facebook and Instagram) on the Monday prior to the meeting. For all Board of Trustees' meetings, a total of 15 minutes of time will be set aside for Public Comment at the end of each meeting and a 5 minutes limit placed per individual speaking. If the issue merits more time for consideration by the Board, all information must be presented to the Chair in writing 5 business days prior to the meeting. The Exeter Public Library shall be operated in accordance with current New Hampshire Library Laws as outlined in New Hampshire Revised Statutes Annotated (RSA) Chapter 202-A and is governed by an elected, independent Board of Trustees. Flight Path at the Exeter Public Library The Exeter Public Library won a grant from Spark of Science @ My Library for Flight Path! This grant allows the library the opportunity to educate the community on local birds, and to inspire scientific curiosity. Birds seen by the community! The Exeter Public Library’s Bird Watch Bingo allows for you to be on the lookout for birds all around you, and learn how to identify them. Pick up the bingo at either the children's service desk, or the adult circulation desk in the library. Turn in the bingo sheet with 1 row, column, or diagonal completed for your name to be entered in our raffle once, or turn in the sheet with a full blackout to have your name entered 3 times! The Exeter Public Library’s Flight Path raffle will be drawn at our first event on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Window Safety and Nesting Materials Saturday, March 14 @ 11 AM Children's DIY Window Decals Our DIY Window Decal activity allows you to design your own window decals, inspired by local birds, and apply them to a window to help reduce bird collisions. Either take it home, or leave it at the library for our window display! Teen and Adult DIY Nesting Balls In collaboration with Exeter's Conservation and Sustainability Planner Learn how to make DIY Nesting Balls for birds to gather safe nesting materials from in your yard! This program will go over what materials are safe to use in DIY Nesting Balls, and will provide all that is needed! World Migratory Bird Day Monday, May 4 - Saturday, May 9 The Exeter Public Library is celebrating World Migratory Bird Day for the entire week of May 4-9! Visit the Children’s Room to take a look at the Great Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve’s Osprey Cam to hopefully see Osprey young being raised! Both the children’s floor and the main floor will also feature different bird book displays for all of your research, or story, needs. Interested in checking out the live cam yourself? Find it here: Great Bay Osprey Cam Window Safety and Nesting Materials Saturday, October 10 @ 11 AM Children's Winter Coat Craft A craft activity with gluing down paper feathers that showcases how a birds winter coat works! Help the Black-Capped Chickadee fluff its feathers in preparation for the cold. Teen and Adult DIY Bird Seed Ornaments Join the library in making bird seed ornaments to help prepare our feathered friends for the cold coming our way! Attendees will be given a pre-made ornament to take home to hang up, as well as a to-go craft bag to make more!
