Choose among free epub and Kindle eBooks, download them or read them online. You will find the world’s great literature here, with focus on older works for which U.S. copyright has expired. Thousands of volunteers digitized and diligently proofread the eBooks, for you to enjoy.
Important notice about your Libby and hoopla accounts!
On September 5, 2023 the Library started issuing NEW library cards replacing the old 5-digit card number with a secure 14-digit card number
Once you come in to update to your new library card your old Libby account number will be merged with the new one. You will not need to do anything. Your holds, history and present downloads will not be affected if your card is not expired.
So, if you have an expired library card, please come in and update your card, otherwise the account will be expired in Libby.
You also will need to change the card number for hoopla. Here are the instructions:

Options for Kindle Fire devices: Amazon has not yet accepted our submission of the Libby app to the Amazon Appstore so the OverDrive app will remain available for Kindle Fire users to download and access until further notice. Users with Kindle Fire devices can also sideload Libby manually following these steps.
OverDrive app sunset timeline and user messaging
The OverDrive app will be sunset at the end of April 2023. This change will simplify how you use your digital collection. In the weeks before the OverDrive app sunset, current in-app messaging will be updated to give users a final reminder to switch to Libby.
After the OverDrive app is discontinued, users who try to access the library’s collection in the OverDrive app will see the following message, informing that you need to upgrade to Libby:
Download thousands of books, audiobooks, and magazines for all ages. These can also be downloaded in other languages. Patron are allotted 3 loans and 5 holds per month.
It is important to use the 14-digit new library card number. If you have not come in to get your new card, please come in at your convenience to update you information. We will merge your old card to the new version. You will not lose your data.

How does hoopla work?
Exeter Public Library provides you 6 Instant Borrows each month. These Instant Borrows will reset every month and you can borrow more than one title at a time.
Books are available for 21 days, videos are available for 72 hours, and music titles are available for 7 days after you borrow. Enjoy!

Exciting news for patrons! They can now browse, borrow, and listen to hoopla music on Roku. In addition to the hoopla movies, TV shows, and audiobooks already viewable, hoopla's Roku app makes music now available through a patron's television.
Get the word out about the Roku experience on hoopla by downloading the social images and posting them on your library's website and social channels.
NEW! Hoopla BingPass: hoopla BingePass is a brand new experience that gives Library patrons unlimited streaming of great online content for 7 days with just a single hoopla Instant borrow.
BingePass is a new format on hoopla — patrons can browse it just like they would browse audiobooks, eBooks, movies, etc. They'll find it with the "More" button in hoopla's bottom navigation on a mobile device.
