Patricia Boyd-Robertson will be displaying her photographs at the Exeter Public Library during May and June. She writes, “Taking pictures/photographs has become second nature to me. I have always wanted to take pictures but my pictures were only in my head. My very first camera was a small black and white Polaroid Camera with picture clarity similar to a stagnant pond. It was not until many years later that I finally began taking pictures with “real cameras”. My husband began, each Christmas, to gift me with a new camera with all sorts of attachments. When I learned to use it properly and eventually wore it out, I was gifted with an even better camera. Being self-taught can be an arduous adventure to say the least.” “Initially, I took wedding and family portraits but there was always some part of satisfaction that was missing. After years of taking such pictures, I simply stopped. I started to look at nature and all that was living and breathing around me. I started taking more and more pictures but still couldn’t seem to put into print what I was seeing. I started scanning some of my pictures into my computer and it was then that I was able to finally see the picture I was taking.” “I know that there are more and more adventures for me with my camera and I intend to find them all. I want the pictures that I take to touch my soul and my inner peace. I want my pictures to be expressed on a different level and one that shows flair.” She is a member of the Seacoast Artists Association and her work has hung at the Black Orchid Gallery in Sanibel, Florida, Exeter Chamber of Commerce, The Exeter Town Hall, The Exeter Arts Association, and The Wentworth House. In addition, her work has been shown in numerous art shows throughout the seacoast area. The Exeter Public Library is located in historic downtown Exeter at 4 Chestnut Street.
